Q: Why HappyYellowHouse.com?
A:
Well, a couple of years ago my husband, Big Daddy, and I bought a new house and it's painted a happy yellow.
So I named my website after the
house because I love it so much!
Q: Hey, that's a pretty cute logo you have
there! Where'd you get that?
A: Why thank you very much! I drew that
logo with my own little hands.
Q: Hmmm, this is a pretty skimpy website.
Why should I waste my time here?
A: Give an old lady a break would ya? The
website's in its baby stages right now. I don't have a whole lot
of patience sometimes so I decided to open the site and build it as I go
along. Just stick with me and before you know it there'll be more
stuff here than you can stand =D
Q: This looks
like a crochet website. Why the
cartoons and essays and other stuff?
What has that got to do with anything?
A: Short
answer is because I like them =)
I have many likes and things I enjoy
doing. I don't really have
anywhere else to share them so I
included them here. I started a
Blog recently to put most of that stuff,
though. Although I intend to keep
what's here already where it is.
Q: Can I
sell the stuff I make?
A:
Basically, yes. As long as you're
not mass producing them. And by
"mass" I mean a lot! If you're
making several dozen, for the most part,
I don't care. Check out the Selling Page for a more complete
answer.
Q: May I share
your patterns on my website or with my
group?
A: Again,
basically, yes. You may link to us
anytime you like. In fact, I'd
really appreciate it! The only thing I
ask is that you don't put the actual
patterns on your website or on your group
pages without talking to me first.
I've given special permission in the
past. I'm pretty flexible =)
Q: Why are
some of the crochet quilt patterns just
charts? How am I supposed to know
what the finished quilt looks like
before I waste my money buying yarn?
A: Well, I
spent several years coming up with my
charting method. I think they give
a quite accurate idea of what the
finished quilt will look like. I
have really bad arthritis in my hands.
I wasn't even able to crochet for years
(talk about your heartbreak) until
recently when I found some specialty
hooks for arthritics. I still
don't stitch very fast. I've met a
wonderful group of ladies over at Crochetville (wonderful site btw you
should go visit) who are actually
helping me out by stitching models for
the ones that are just charts. I
put the charts on the site and they
stitch them up. Are they great or
what? I don't know what I'd do
without them. This site certainly
wouldn't be what it is now without them!
Q: Why are some of the pictures and print on this site
kinda large?
A:
Well, I'm getting to an age where the faculties are beginning to
fail. I'm tired of squinting at the computer trying to figure out
what things are or what they say. So, let's call this the Large
Print edition website =D
Q: I love the site! Can I make a donation?
A: Sure you can! We gratefully accept donations. They help keep the site advertising free. Don't feel it's necessary to donate though. Only donate if you can and feel you'd like to :) You can find the Donate button in the left hand column of every page on the site.
Q: I have a question I'd like to see answered.
Where can I send my question?
A: We'd love to hear from you! You can
send all questions and comments to me at misa@hot.rr.com.
