MEAT AND POTATO PIE
This is what was known
as Shepherd's Pie in my family. It's not a true Shepherd's Pie as
it has no tomatoes, but it's delicious just the same and the kiddoes
love it!
1 1/2 pounds Lean Ground Beef
1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
1/3 cup Onion
1 small can Mushroom Pieces, drained
1 10.5 ounce can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 15 ounce can Kitchen Cut Green Beans
4 cups prepared Mashed Potatoes
1/2 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/2 cup Canned Fried Onions
Preheat over to 350°.
In a large heavy skillet brown and crumble
ground beef with garlic salt and onion until beef is no longer pink. Drain
excess fat. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef mixture, mushroom
pieces, soup and green beans. Press mixture into a 2 quart casserole dish.
Evenly spread mashed potatoes over beef mixture. Top with cheese and fried
onions. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes until heated through and top is
lightly golden. Makes 6-8 servings. |
