NO-BAKE CHOCOLATE OATMEAL COOKIES

Auntie Sara opened up here magical recipe box and sent several goodies to share with us!  This first one is my favorite cookie!  Look for more of her yummy goodies in the weeks to come!

4 oz butter or margarine (1 stick)
½ cup milk
2 cups sugar
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3 to 4 tablespoons peanut butter (optional)
3 cups Old-fashioned oats (not quick oats)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Place chocolate chips, peanut butter (if used) oats, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl.  Combine the margarine, milk, and sugar in a saucepan; bring to a rolling boil.  Boil for 1 minute.  Combine the hot mixture with the oatmeal & chocolate chip mixture; stir well.

Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Makes about 4 dozen. (For more uniform cookies, can drop by rounded measuring tablespoon or melon ball scoop)

Chill in fridge until set.
