Using tapestry needle and one strand of Black yarn, assemble afghan body by sewing along long edges of strips together using cover photo for placement.
With one strand of Black yarn and “K” crochet hook join with a sl st to any corner of afghan body. Sc evenly around all four sides of body, working 3 sc in each corner to make a smooth transition, finish off, weave in loose ends.
Cut a 10” piece of heavy cardboard and wind yarn around to make even 20” Black and Warm Brown strands for fringe. Hold two strands of Black and two strands of Warm Brown together for each fringe tassel. Fold four strand bundle in half and hold about 1” from top to form a loop. Insert hook into first sc along bottom edge of afghan, then through the loop of the fringe bundle, draw all four strands through sc keeping four strand loop on hook, yarn over with loose end of bundle and pull through loop, pull tight, skip next sc and repeat the process to the end. Repeat for top edge of afghan. Trim fringe to even it up.
Enjoy!
