Materials Needed
8 oz Yellow worsted weight yarn
5 oz White worsted weight yarn
1 oz. Black worsted weight yarn
Size “H” crochet hook
1 Large package of polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
BODY: (Make 2)
With yellow, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook
(Mark this side as right side)
Rnd 1: 2 sc in each sc around, 12 sc
Rnd 2: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * around, 18 sc
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * around, 27 sc
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * until last stitch, sc in last sc, 40 sc
Rnds 5-7: Sc in each sc around, 40 sc
Rnd 8: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * around, 60 sc
Rnd 9-11: Sc in each sc around, 60 sc
Rnd 12: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * around, 90 sc
Rnds 13-17: Sc in each sc around, 90 sc
Rnd 18: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * around, 135 sc
Rnds 19-26: Sc in each sc around, 135 sc
Rnd 27: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * around to last sc, sc in last sc, 202 sc
Rnds 28-30: Sc in each sc around, 202 sc, finish off, weave in ends
Holding wrong sides together and using tapestry needle and yellow yarn, sew two body halves together leaving an 18” length of yarn for sewing and a 4” opening for stuffing and turning. Turn right side out, stuff very firmly and sew opening closed with an overcast stitch.
LEG: (Make 2)
With white, ch 25, join with sl to beg ch to form a ring being careful not to twist chain
Rnd 1: Sc in each ch around, 25 sc
Rnds 2-10: Sc in each sc around, 25 sc
Rnd 11: *Sc next 2 sc tog, repeat from * 4 times, sc in the remaining 15 sc, 20 sc
Rnd 12: 2 sc in next 5 sc, sc in remaining 15 sc, 25 sc
Rnd 13: 2 sc in the next 10 sc, sc in remaining 15 sc, 35 sc
Rnds 14-16: Sc in each sc around, 35 sc
Rnd 17: Sc in the next 7 sc, *sc the next 2 sc tog, repeat from * 4 times, sc in remaining 18 sc, 30 sc
Rnd 18: *Sc next 2 sc tog, repeat from * around, 15 sc
Rnd 19: Sc in next sc, *sc next 2 sc tog, repeat from * around, 8 sc, finish off leaving an 18” length for sewing, flatten foot lengthwise and sew end closed. Turn leg inside out, stuff and attach to body.
ARMS: (Make 2)
With white, ch 20, join with sl to beg ch to form a ring being careful not to twist chain
Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, 20 sc
Rnds 2-15: Sc in each sc around, 20 sc
Rnd 16: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * around, 30 sc
Rnds 17-21: Sc in each sc around, 30 sc
Rnd 22: *Sc next 2 sc tog, sc in next sc, repeat from * around, 20 sc
Rnd 23: *Sc next 2 sc tog, repeat from * around, 10 sc
Rnd 24: *Sc next 2 sc tog, repeat from * around, 5 sc. Finish off leaving an 18” length for sewing. Flatten arm lengthwise and sew end closed. Turn arm inside out, stuff and attach to body.
EYES: (Make 2)
With black, ch 4
Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, 4 sc in last sc, working in free loops of foundation ch, sc in next free loop, 4 sc in last free loop, 11 sc
Rnd 2: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * around, to last st, sc in last st, 16 sc
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * around, 24 sc, sl st in next st, finish off leaving an 18” for sewing. Attach eyes to body using front photograph for placement.
MOUTH:
With black and leaving an 18” tail for sewing ch 45, finish off leaving an 18” length for sewing. Using front photograph for placement, sew mouth to body.
