beg - beginning
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
sl st - slip stitch
BLO - Back Loop Only
sp - space

SOLID COLOR GRANNY

Finished square measures approximately 2 1/2”

Ch 4, join with a sl st to first chain to form a ring

RND 1: Ch 3, 2 dc in ring, ch 1, (3 dc in ring, ch 1) three times, join with sl st to top of beg ch 3.

RND 2: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in first ch 1 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in same ch 1 sp, ch 1 (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1) in remaining 3 ch 1 sps, join with sl st to top of beg ch 3, finish off, weave in loose ends

Materials Needed

9 oz    Red worsted weight yarn
8 oz    Purple worsted weight yarn
7 oz    Blue worsted weight yarn
7 oz    Green worsted weight yarn
5 oz    Yellow worsted weight yarn
5 oz    Orange worsted weight yarn
32 oz White worsted weight yarn
Size “G” crochet hook, or size needed for proper gauge
Tapestry needle

Afghan Assembly

Using tapestry needle and appropriate color yarn and stitching through BLO, assemble the completed squares using the chart below for placement:

Border

Join White to any corner with a sl st. Ch 1.

Rnd 1 & 2: Sc in each stitch with (sc, ch2, sc) in corners.

Rnd 3: (Basic V-Stitch) Ch5, dc in same st as chain, *skip next stitch, (dc, ch2, dc) in next stitch. Repeat from * around.

Rnd 4: Sl st, ch6, dc in same sp. (Dc, ch3, dc) in each v-stitch space around.

Rnd 5: Sl st, ch8, dc in same sp. (Dc, ch5, dc) in each v-stitch space around.
